The Adventure R had proved very capable off-road, but to be honest I wasnāt expecting too much of the standard bike in such a demanding environment.
The 790 Adventure R ($13,699) is a little more dirt oriented with upgraded suspension, more travel, more aggressive tires and a high fender. Thereās also a limited edition 790 R Rally ($19,499) which has works-level suspension and an Akrapovic exhaust. Weāve never actually seen one of thoseāthere were only 500 imported.

The 790 Duke was introduced in 2017, but it was quickly supplanted by the 890 Duke R in 2019 as KTMās top middleweight naked. The 790 was dropped completely for the 2021 model year, replaced by a new non-R 890 Duke. There was never anything wrong with the 790 Duke. KTM says it managed to sell 29,000 units despite itās very short run.
